Teaching

“IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOUNG PEOPLE BE EXPOSED TO ARTISTS WHO CAN COMMUNICATE THEIR PASSION FOR JAZZ MUSIC. THE WORKSHOP RECENTLY PRESENTED BY THE MATT WILSON QUARTET WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST WE HAVE HAD IN OUR 7 YEAR HISTORY!”

GORDON HANKS
DIRECTOR OF THE GAM FOUNDATION

The GAM Foundation is a Salt Lake City, Utah organization established to increase awareness, appreciation and popularity of Jazz in the community. The foundation produces Jazz at the Sheraton, a concert series that has brought to Utah the biggest names in Jazz over the past seven years including Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. The foundation donates 350 tickets to each concert to over 45 local schools.

“TO EXPERIENCE THE MATT WILSON QUARTET IN AN EDUCATIONAL CLINIC IS TO EXPERIENCE PURE MAGIC. IT IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUE AND THE SCIENCE OF JAZZ. IT IS ABOUT MUSIC, AND THE MUSIC OF THE MWQ TRANSCENDS BOUNDARIES. IT WILL REACH EVERYONE. I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY!

BOB WASHUT
