I get to play with some of the nicest and most amazing musicians on the planet. I enjoy their musicianship and their fellowship.

Dewey Redman Quartet - I have been playing with Dewey since 1994. He simply has one of the greatest sounds ever and is a wonderful bandleader. Check out his LIVE IN LONDON disc on Palmetto records. I think the world of Dewey.
Lee Konitz- Another legend of sound and a true improvisor. I have been playing with Lee since 1995. I just played an incredible week with Lee and the amazing Drew Gress. I also recently did a duo record w/ Lee that should come out in 2003 on Steeplechase.
Andrew Hill- He just called for some gigs and I just about fell out of my chair. I am looking forward to playing with him.
Buster Williams’ Something More- A groove you can seriously feel. We play with Denny Zeitlin’s trio and I was so excited when he asked to do some gigs with his band. We worshiped Buster back in Wichita!
Bill Mays Trio- We have a telepathic trio with bassist Martin Wind. We also have a quartet project with German saxophonist Peter Weniger. Bill gets down whether it is free, a standard or a movie date. A soulful pro!
Herbie Nichols Project- Frank Kimbrough and Ben Allison co- lead this effort. The roster may include any of these happening dudes; Michael Blake, Ted Nash, Wycliffe Gordon, Ron Horton. Woo hoo!
Denny Zeitlin Trio- The Doctor seriously explores and we venture into some wild territory. We have fun playing together and a given plus is that he is a wine expert.
Dena Derose- One of the most soulful vocalist/ pianist of today with a spirit that is so infectious. Her approach is so carefree, she really just lets it happen; and it happens!
Ray Anderson’s Bonemeal- A virtuoso trombonist with so much spirit and enthusiasm Ray definitely rules! I love everything about him especially his infectious energy!
Jane Ira Bloom- is one of the great players and composers of her generation or any generation for matter. Every gig is an adventure. She has been a huge influence on my writing.
Michael Blake’s Free Association- This is a large ensemble made up of the cream of the crop New York musicians. Michael is a gifted composer who is not afraid to sit back and watch the sparks fly! We don’t play often but when we do; LOOK OUT!
Ted Nash’s Odeon and Quintet- I first heard Ted when I was 14 and he is amazingly instinctual musician. Odeon gets into some hip territory and features Wycliffe Gordon, Miri Ben Ari and the hip Bill Schimmel on accordion.
Ted Rosenthal Trio- We have a fun trio with the masterful Dennis Irwin. Ted has the gift to be able to bring so many different kinds of music to life.
Mario Pavone- I have played in many groups of Mario’s and I especially appreciate his passion for musical adventure. Check out the Nu Trio CD on Knitting Factory Works with the great Peter Madsen.
Andy Biskin Quintet- Andy is an enterprising clarinetist and composer. He writes quirky tunes that are right up my alley.
Frank Kimbrough Trio- Frank is one of the most expressive musicians I know. The hook-up we have with Ben Allison in this trio is amazing. I am looking forward to recording soon with these fellows.

I have also had the extreme honor to play and or record with these great musicians! (The list is random.)
